Halo Highlight: Todd Jones
“Halo Highlight” is a series of interviews showcasing our unique and talented team members. This week, we sat down with Manager of Market Intelligence Todd Jones to learn more about his role, the best advice he’s ever received, and what’s next on his music playlist.
Tell us more about what it’s like being a Manager of Market Intelligence.
I see myself as the research and data guru for the company. Before working at Halo, I had extensive experience with research and analytics but within the consumer-packaged goods industry. It’s more fulfilling to apply those skills to healthcare. I’ve researched a variety of different topics including our customers, competitors, and drivers of the purchasing process, clinical ROI, and marketing performance. I love being able to find and tell stories with numbers.
What’s your favorite aspect about the role?
The most rewarding part of my role is that there’s no one else doing this at the company right now, so I can make an impact on various levels. Sometimes it’s as small as delivering a compelling map to the team for a sales pitch, or it could be something bigger like working to prove Halo’s ROI in a robust, statistical way. Having the opportunity to affect the industry in a variety of ways is great!
How would you describe yourself in three words?
Curious, determined, laid-back.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
It’s more of a question: where’s the proof? I feel like a lot of us tend to run away with our assumptions, so this phrase reminds me to pause and challenge spiraling thoughts.
How did you first hear about Halo?
I stumbled upon Halo on a job site. There was something about being able to make an impact at a smaller and growing company in healthcare that appealed to me.
What makes you proud to work at Halo?
I love that we’re helping people, and I’m proud to work alongside cool and down-to-earth people who want to make an impact in healthcare.
What might other Halo team members be surprised to know about you?
I’m kind of a nerd when it comes to maps and can proudly share that I’m able to point out all the countries on a map (at least I could at one point in time)! I also love watching an episode of The Office to end my day with a laugh.
What’s on your music playlist?
It’s a hodge podge of artists – Foo Fighters, Dave Matthews Band, Ben Folds, Sondre Lerche, Gaby Moreno, to name a few.
What’s on your bucket list?
Visit Italy and make it back to Hawaii since it’s one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen.
What’s your go-to drink from the coffee machine?
I’m not much of a coffee drinker – Diet Coke is my “coffee.” My go-to drink is a White Russian.
