Halo Highlight: Liz Ramsey
“Halo Highlight” is a series of interviews showcasing our unique and talented team members. This week, we sat down with Senior Director of Commercial Operations Liz Ramsey to learn more about her background, why she likes working at Halo, and her ideal time travel destination.
Tell us a little bit about your role.
I actively think about our sales strategy in order to make our customer’s experience more impactful. It’s a function that’s all about the people, process, and operations. By supporting our Sales Team, I also facilitate the customer journey and how it moves from our initial conversation into the implementation stage.
What’s the most challenging part of your role?
While we’re excited to be leading the industry with cutting-edge technologies, we are essentially paving a road that doesn’t exist yet. In commercial operations, we arm our sales force with the right tools, strategies, and processes to educate health systems and their C-Suite executives. Our job is to connect the dots for them, and it’s important for us to set the right precedent early in the customer’s journey.
Does your current role differ from others you’ve had in the past?
The daily operations of my role are different, but I still communicate to a similar audience. I kind of took an unconventional path. I started out in the world of academia where I specialized in studying crisis communications within healthcare organizations. I then took a position as an instructor and taught courses revolving around communication. From there, a colleague helped me in the clinical documentation space, which was when I was first exposed to technology as it relates to healthcare. Now, instead of only focusing on clinical communication, I’ve moved on to collaboration and what that means for the health industry.
What do you like about working at Halo?
I’ve been at Halo since 2016, and while there has been a tremendous amount of growth, our core values are the same. I love the people and the fact that we’re doing something that no one else is doing. Our team is crafting solutions within a new space and to be part of this initiative is really exciting.
If you could time travel, which period of time would you go back to visit?
The Roaring Twenties because of changing attitudes toward women and their role in society. It also helps that the fashion during that time was awesome.
What was the last book you read?
Leaders Eat Last by Simon Sinek.
What’s something your team members might not know about you?
Riding on the back of my Papa P’s (my dad) Harley is one of my favorite pastimes.
What’s your go-to cup of coffee?
College Hill’s Highlander Grogg, for the French Press!
