Halo Highlight: Josh Coury
“Halo Highlight” is a series of interviews showcasing our unique and talented team members. This week, we sat down with Enterprise Sales Director Josh Coury to learn more about his role, what it’s like working in Cincinnati, and his ideal cup of coffee.
Tell us what it’s like working as an Enterprise Sales Director.
It typically revolves around educating health systems on the ever-changing industry shift from on-premise hardware point solutions to cloud-based enterprise-wide platforms. With this comes the fortunate opportunity of collaborating with the Halo team, which includes some of the brightest minds in the industry. Overall, we solve complex communication issues that impact patient care. It is humbling and rewarding knowing that what I sell is making a positive contribution in healthcare.
What do you like about working at Halo?
Having the ability to make an impact. As a company experiencing rapid growth, we get to create the structure and processes ourselves. The culture here is unparalleled. Our team thrives on collaboration, and it is comforting to know that your voice matters when making team-wide decisions. We have world-class talent, and I always try to absorb their wealth of knowledge. There is never a stale day; we all wear multiple hats in our “startup” environment.
Did you anticipate working in the healthcare industry?
I knew I wanted to migrate toward healthcare, but I didn’t think I’d end up here this quickly.
What’s the best thing about working in Cincinnati?
We’re pretty much located in the heart of downtown with so many amenities within walking distance. It’s a hub of all sorts of businesses, restaurants, coffee shops, and entertainment. It’s cool to be surrounded by great people and big ideas both in and out of the office.
What motivates you?
Helping others, self-improvement, and contributing to something revolutionary.
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Professional soccer player. Of course, that’s not what I’m doing now, but I still participate in the occasional rec league or pick up game.
What’s your ideal cup of coffee?
It’s a 50/50 blend plus one strength. Our coffee machine has the meter defaulted at the middle, so I just move it one to the right. Adds an extra kick.
What’s something your team members would be surprised to hear about you?
I’m a huge car guy, but not so much into the classics. I am more interested in the high-tech cars like the Teslas of the world. I want to own the entire Tesla lineup one day.
