Halo Highlight: Chaz Strubbe
“Halo Highlight” is a series of interviews showcasing our unique and talented team members. This week, we sat down with Commercial Product Director Chaz Strubbe to learn more about his role, how he learned about the company, and his go-to cup of coffee.
How did you first hear about Halo?
Our CEO and Co-Founder Jose Barreau reached out to me via LinkedIn. I didn’t know much about the clinical collaboration landscape at the time, as my previous experiences revolved more around medical devices. The concept of using technology to improve clinical collaboration was all new to me, and I’m still learning about it! I’ve always enjoyed the energy and passion of marketing so this role allows me to funnel that passion into something creative and meaningful.
What’s your favorite part about working at Halo?
There’s a strong sense of camaraderie here. I love the “startup” feel and that things are different every day. My current role is ever-changing in a good way. In a fast-paced environment, something can pop up and must be addressed immediately. It’s definitely been a departure from my previous experiences, but I’ve learned how to be flexible and be fully engaged at all times. You quickly learn the pain points of the industry and know that the product our company is providing helps address some pretty serious issues that impact patient care. We solve problems quickly and creatively, and I enjoy being part of that.
What three words describe you?
I’d say I’m patient, passionate, and analytical.
If you could pick anyone in the company, who would you want to be your mentor?
Jon Jansen (Chief Solutions Architect at Halo Health) – he’s always calm, collected, and patient. He’s a great teacher and his open-mindedness allows him to truly see others’ perspectives and how it’s similar or different from his own. In general, Jon isn’t limited to his own perception of things and seems to constantly try to learn from others.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever given?
I think in any environment, it’s all about slowing down to process the situation at hand before reacting. Just take it in, analyze, and respond accordingly.
What’s something your coworkers may not know about you?
I’m an avid cyclist and try to bike to work twice a week.
Where do you see yourself five years from now?
Leading the brand strategy at Halo Health as we expand into new markets.
What’s your go-to drink at the coffee machine?
My go-to is an Americano, which is actually not one of the options on our coffee machine. If anyone’s interested, just double the espresso and top it off with hot water.
