Jose Barreau, MD | CEO & Co-Founder
Dr. Barreau's passion — to improve patient care through better communication — is the foundation for the Halo clinical communication platform.
Dr. Barreau is Board-certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology. He completed his fellowship in Hematology - Oncology at the University of Cincinnati, and prior to his retirement from active practice he sub-specialized in breast cancer treatment.
In his role as the former director of the TriHealth Cancer Institute in Cincinnati, Dr. Barreau worked to expand the use of multidisciplinary clinics, which would in-turn improve the quality of cancer care through better communication.
With more than 15 years of administrative and clinical experience, Dr. Barreau knows first-hand the need for physicians to communicate securely and quickly with other physicians and nurses. He is a visionary entrepreneur who is adamant about holding firm on the principles that are the basic standards of the Halo platform: quality and reliability of the product, meticulous client service, and a commitment to evolving the product as the industry and technology grows.
Alessio Nasini | Chief Financial Officer
As Halo’s Chief Financial Officer, Alessio Nasini is responsible for Halo’s finance, strategic planning, commercial operations and human resources functions.
Alessio brings to Halo over 15 years of expertise in finance, corporate development and strategy along with extensive operations experience in the Software, Healthcare Technology and Media industries.
Prior to Halo, Alessio spent time at Merge Healthcare where he led finance, corporate development and strategic planning from 2008 until the company’s sale to IBM Watson Health in 2015. Over his tenure at Merge, the company grew revenue and enterprise value over 4x and 18x respectively, while executing and integrating 16 acquisitions. Most recently, Alessio was Senior Vice President, Corporate Development at Tribune.
Alessio holds a bachelor’s degree in Business and Economics from Roma TRE University and a master’s degree in Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Kurt Hammond | Chief Growth Officer
As Halo’s Chief Growth Officer, Kurt is responsible for Halo’s business growth, sales, marketing and partnership development functions.
Kurt has spent the past 25+ years in the healthcare industry across several medical device and healthcare IT organizations. Kurt’s passion and expertise is in building teams, creating a successful customer focused culture and bringing greater value to customers and employees.
Prior to Halo, Kurt spent time with IBM Watson Health, following the acquisition of Merge Healthcare in late 2015. As the Global VP of Partnerships, he developed the indirect channel for Watson Health’s business. At Merge Healthcare, Kurt was Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, driving the market share and sales growth for the company and integrating the several acquired sales organizations. Kurt has been an integral part of several successful start-up companies, including Spine-Tech, Provation Medical and Acuo, and brings a combination of clinical and IT knowledge, which is needed in further developing the communication & collaboration platform market.
Kurt holds a bachelor’s degree in Diplomacy & Foreign Affairs from Miami University (OH) and a master’s degree in Business Administration from the Carlson School of Management at University of Minnesota. Kurt resides in Evanston, IL with his wife Chandra and two wonderful children, Serik and Sasha.
Angel Mena, M.D. | Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Mena joined Halo as Chief Medical Officer after being a customer and advocate for the platform for many years. He provides strategic clinical direction to the company and oversight of the Halo Advisory Council where he has served as Chair of the Physician Advisory Council for more than a year.
Dr. Mena has worked as a primary care physician and hospitalist for 5 years and currently serves as a faculty physician for the internal medicine residency program. He has achieved the Foundational Level of TriHealth Way of Leading Certification, and his interests include clinical research, big data, population management and healthcare technology.
Allison Morin MSN, RN-BC | Vice President of Nursing Informatics
Ali is responsible for leading and developing programs around the nurse communication strategy for the company. Her focus is helping the Implementation and Customer Care teams with adoption of the Halo Clinical Communication Platform™ throughout entire health systems. She is also the Chair of the Nurse Advisory Council for Halo.
Ali began her nursing career as a pediatric nurse in a high acuity/critical care unit at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, later moving into a clinical analyst role. She transferred her skills to Boston Children’s Hospital as a Clinical Team Lead for the EMR implementation, and spent six years managing the clinical documentation team. Ali joined Halo Health in the fall of 2017 and was instrumental in developing the Implementation Team.
Dale Bailey | Vice President Of Customer Operations
Dale Bailey comes to Halo from Quest Diagnostics where he most recently served as Director of Implementations for Quest Diagnostic's Enterprise Content Management System. Prior to serving in that role, Dale also held additional leadership positions at Quest Diagnostics overseeing Technical and Customer Support Services, Application Consulting, and Customer Training.
Dale has over 20 years of years of experience in Healthcare and Information Technology for companies including Siemens, Affiliated Computer Services (Xerox), IDX (GE Healthcare), and Blue Cross Blue Shield. Dale holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Eastern Illinois University.
Lindsey Lonergan | Vice President Of Human Resources & Talent Acquisition
Leading the Halo HR department, Lindsey is charged with building our growing team. With a passion for developing talent and creating cohesive work-groups, Lindsey is excited to be at the helm as Halo expands.
Lindsey came to Halo from the Cintas Corporation, where she served first as Human Resources Generalist then as the Talent Acquisition Manager for Global Supply Chain.
A University of Cincinnati graduate, she holds both a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and a Master’s in Human Resources, and she has achieved her PHR certification. Lindsey also brings experience leading a different kind of team—she was assistant coach of UC’s Women’s Tennis Team.
